Workshop on Cloud, PaaS and Bluemix

Event: Venue Details and information to join future events

It was a bright and clear saturday morning @ Embassy Golf Link premises, Bangalore and the day got brighter for us seeing attendees join the invite inspite of being weekend morning event.

1) Introduction to Cloud, PaaS & BLuemix (Presentation)

2) Bluemix UI walkthrough
- Catalog,Dashboard, Boiler plates, Services, Runtimes, Pricing
- Create a nodeJS sample app. Show the application properties.

11:15 - 11:40
3) JazzHub and Git
- Add Git, Make a small change and show the changes reflecting in the App.
- Value proposition of JazzHub/Git with Bluemix.

4) Showcase nodeJS MongoDB demo pushing the app thru CF (Command line)

Some key take-aways:

1) Positive feedback on the content and inclusion of hands-on demos helped convey the ease & power of bluemix. Some of the attendees have already shared positive feedback on the meetup group/website acknowledging their positive experience.

2) Attendees were especially impressed with the demo covering DevOps-JazzHub-Git showcasing end-to-end development entirely on the web without requiring any tools. This was certainly a WOW moment for many!

3) Several attendees expressed interest in evaluating how Web/Andorid/IoT apps could be built around on-premise systems with Bluemix.

4) Exciting day for us fielding some very interesting questions and also with the attendees sharing some of their experiences around Cloud, PaaS and Bluemix.

5) Most of the attendees were already looking for information/schedule on the next such meetup event.
